FEMALE COACHING SYMPOSIUM COMING TO PEI IN SEPTEMBER

 Hockey PEI Development Council is pleased to announce the introduction of a Female Coaching Symposium. This inaugural symposium will be held September 11th and 12th at the Causeway Bay Linkletter Hotel in Summerside. The symposium will concentrate on the female game of hockey. It is open to both female and male delegates interested in the female game, at all levels including Minor Hockey, Recreation, Senior, College and University.
The symposium will feature many different sessions and topics focused on female hockey. Delegates will have an opportunity to learn from many experienced coaches and presenters and share their own insights and ideas into the game.
The key note speaker and guest presenter will be Julie Healy who is the Director of Female Hockey for Hockey Canada. Healy based out of the Hockey Canada office in Calgary will share her many insights and experiences related to coaching in the female game.
“This coaching symposium will provide a unique opportunity for coaches of female hockey in PEI to gain valuable development through the insightful sessions, networking with the knowledgeable speakers as well as the other coaches in attendance”, stated Development Council Chair Nancy MacMillan.
“There are similarities in coaching amongst the male and female game, but there are also many differences that we think this symposium can address to better the game for female participants”.
All coaches in the female game are encouraged to attend this symposium.
