HOCKEY PEI ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING CONCLUDES

CHARLOTTETOWN – Members joined together at the 33rd Annual General Meeting of Hockey PEI which took place on Thursday June 26, 2008 at the Rodd Royalty Inn in Charlottetown. The annual meeting included council and committee reports, award presentations, elections/appointments and a review of the proposed Notices of Motions.
The 2008 Annual General Meeting honored award recipients and volunteers who have devoted themselves to the betterment of the game. Hockey PEI was honored to present awards to the following individuals.
- Andrea Laird (Winsloe) – Recipient of the BF Lorenzetti & Associates Inc. Bursary.
- Tyler MacDonald (Charlottetown) – Recipient of the Hockey PEI Scholastic Award.
- June Sencabaugh (Murray River) – Was honored by Hockey PEI as a result of her distinction for winning the RBC Local Hockey Leaders Award for Prince Edward Island.
- Sherwood Minor Hockey received the annual Development Award in recognition of a minor hockey association that best promotes branch and Hockey Canada development programs for its players, coaches, officials and instructors.
Departing board members were recognized for their contribution to the organization and game of Hockey. Gordie Lund of Charlottetown completed his term as President with the organization and will now become the sitting past president of Hockey PEI. Also departing the board after serving three seasons as the chair of female council is Leo Flood of Kinkora.
