PEE WEE PLAYERS SELECTED FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Charlottetown – Hockey PEI recently hosted the Provincial Pee Wee skills challenge on March 12th at MacLauchlan Arena. Pee Wee age players completed a series of skills taken from Hockey Canada’s National Skills Standards and Testing Program.

Each male Pee Wee AAA team and female Pee Wee AA identified two members of their teams to compete in the Hockey PEI Skills Challenge branch finals. Two lucky winners – one male and one female will represent Hockey PEI at the 2008 IIHF Skills Challenge in Quebec City from May 2-5th in conjunction with the World Hockey Championships.

While all teams were represented, Pownal Minor Hockey representatives shined through at the competition. The female representative is Katie Parkman (Pownal Pee Wee AA Female) and male representative Damon MacDonald (Pownal Pee Wee AAA Male). Both representatives receive an all expenses paid trip to Quebec City for themselves and a guest.

(Left to Right): Damon MacDonald, Nancy MacMillan (Chair Development Council) and Katie Parkman.
