HOCKEY PEI MALE UNDER 17 MINI CAMP

Charlottetown – Hockey PEI is hosting a Male Under 17 minicamp May 30-31 at the MacLauchlan Arena in Charlottetown. The camp will help identify the top 15 players who will represent Hockey PEI at the Hockey Canada Atlantic Under 17 camp being held July 21-25th in Wolfville, NS. Each participant at the mini camp will have one practice and two games to showcase their talent. The cost of the provincial camp is $40.
Team Atlantic is comprised of players from each of the four Atlantic Provinces and will represent Atlantic Canada at the 2009 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge, December 29th to January 4th, in Port Alberni, BC. Last year, Hockey PEI was represented by Brandon Gormley from Murray River, Jordan Costello from Alaska and Morgan Ellis of East Bideford.
The Under 17 program is a cornerstone for Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence. It is the first time that players in our country get to put on the Canadian jersey and compete against international teams. The invaluable experience gained by these young men will help them as many will go on to represent Canada at the Under-18s, World Juniors and other international events.
