PEI WOMEN'S HOCKEY HOST OPEN HOUSE

Charlottetown – The Hockey PEI Female Council in conjunction with Island Women’s Hockey League (IWHL) and the PEI Women’s Recreational Hockey League is in the process of gearing up for the coming season. In an effort to attract more players and/or teams, both leagues are holding an open house at Rodd Royalty Inn in Charlottetown on Tuesday, September 15th. The open house will run from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
Members of the league executives and team representatives will be in attendance during the evening to showcase the league and provide information to women of all ages who may be interested in joining an established team or have an interest in forming a new team and entering one of the leagues. The group also invites other female adult teams whom may not be currently registered with Hockey PEI to come and see what this hockey season can offer to all female players through Hockey PEI.
Last season saw six teams in each respective league and all set to return for play this coming season. With the many female players that have recently graduated from minor hockey and the number of women who have picked up the game in their local communities the last few years the timing seems right for expansion within both leagues.
All interested players are invited to drop into Rodd Royalty Inn on the 15th any time between 6:30 and 8:00 pm.
