CHARLOTTETOWN, PE - Do you have a general knowledge of the Hockey PEI structure, a keen interest in hockey and giving back to the sport community? Join our team in the following volunteer position.
FEMALE COUNCIL: Under-25 Director
We are looking to recruit an experienced volunteer with a keen interest in female hockey and provincial sport body leadership, governance, and input.
PURPOSE:
The League Chairperson will serve as the main contact between U25 teams, Female Council and Hockey PEI, working to develop and maintain positive opportunities within this league on behalf of Hockey PEI.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize league set up and scheduling in collaboration with league teams and Female Council;
Review and improve existing league rules, policies and procedures
Be familiar with Hockey PEI Regulations, policies and procedures
Liaise between teams and Female Council.
Supervise and guide the conduct of the teams in their specific league
Assess and monitor suspensions that result during games in the current season
Approve requests for use of affiliate players and substitute goaltender within regulatory requirements
Attend disciplinary hearings when required
Promote, recruit, and foster the growth and development of league
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and electronic
General knowledge of the Hockey PEI structure
Dedicated and highly motivated
Comfortable in confrontational situations
