Hockey PEI Announces Staff for 2027 Canada Winter Games Male & Female Teams

CARLOTTETOWN, PE — Hockey PEI is thrilled to announce the coaching and support staff for both the Male and Female hockey teams that will represent Prince Edward Island at the 2027 Canada Winter Games. With a commitment to excellence and player development, the selected staff bring a wealth of experience and passion to the provincial teams as they prepare for national competition.
The Male hockey team will be led by Morgan MacDonald (Halifax Mooseheads / QMJHL) as Head Coach. His extensive background in competitive hockey and proven track record of developing elite athletes make him a natural choice to guide Team PEI. Assisting him will be Nick Reeves (Kensington Wild / NBPEIMU18) and Denver Clinton (Eastern Dukes / NSU16AAA, both of whom bring diverse coaching experiences and strong ties to local hockey programs. Tanner Doiron (Hockey PEI) will serve as the Director of Operations, overseeing team logistics and ensuring smooth preparation for the games.
On the Female side, Marilyn Fortin (Western Wolves / MMFHLAAA) will take the helm as Head Coach, bringing her strategic mindset and dedication to advancing women's hockey in Prince Edward Island. She will be supported by Jenna Pellerin (Eastern Stars / MMFHLAAA) and Faith Steeves (UPEI Women’s Hockey / AUS), known for their commitment to player development and community engagement. Jordan Miller (Hockey PEI U18/U16 Female) will serve as the Director of Operations, ensuring all aspects of team management are well-coordinated.
Hockey PEI Technical Director Travis McIsaac, expressed confidence in the appointed staff, stating, “The experience and passion these coaches and support staff bring to the program are exactly what we need as we prepare to compete on the national stage. We are excited to see the growth and success of our athletes under their guidance.”
The 2027 Canada Winter Games will take place in Québec from February 26th to March 15th, marking a historic return to the birthplace of the Canada Games 60 years after the inaugural event held in 1967. The province of Quebec will host the Canada Games for a fourth time, after previously hosting the 2013 Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke, the 1983 Canada Winter Games in Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, and the first-ever Canada Games in Québec in 1967.
