Hockey PEI is the governing body for amateur hockey in Prince Edward Island, supporting member associations, clubs, and leagues across the province. From entry-level programming to national competition, Hockey PEI helps create positive hockey experiences for players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and communities.
The Hockey Operations Coordinator plays an important role in supporting Council operations across Minor, Female, Junior, Officiating, and Development. This position helps keep programs, meetings, member communications, complaint management, and policies and procedures organized, consistent, and responsive to the needs of the hockey community.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this permanent position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to hockey across PEI through responsibilities such as:
Council Program Support
Supporting Council Chairs and Committees with meeting and agenda coordination;
Coordinating member communications;
Supporting formal complaint management in accordance with existing policies and procedures;
Organizing league setup and scheduling;
Maintaining updates to policies and procedures;
Liaising with member councils, minor associations, leagues, and committees;
Supporting management of the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR), coach and official certifications, and safe sport requirements;
Supporting the Board and Councils with special projects and committee tasks as required;
Supporting the Executive Director with other duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education from a recognized institution in Sport Management, Business, or a
related field;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Strong organizational and administrative skills;
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines effectively;
• Proficiency with social media, technology, and software;
• Valid Criminal Record Check;
• Ability to travel across the province and work flexible hours, as needed.
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends for meetings and events, as needed.
Salary Range: $44,000–$55,000 based on a 37.5-hour work week, commensurate with combined education and work experience. Hockey PEI offers a competitive benefits package, professional development opportunities, free parking, and flexible work arrangements in a collaborative sport environment.
