OPPORTUNITY: Manager, Communications

STATUS: Full-time, permanent

SALARY: $44,000 - $47,000 / annually.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director


Hockey PEI is searching for the next member of its team! Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Manager of Communication is responsible for providing assistance with planning, organizing, communicating and administration of Hockey PEI.

In this role, you will act as the liaison between the Executive Director and Hockey PEI's membership across all areas of our game to ensure affairs are conducted in a professional manner while working to meet the national marketing & communication standard for hockey here on Prince Edward Island.


Communications -

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the Hockey PEI website.

  • Responsible for monitoring and updating all Hockey PEI social media accounts.

  • Responsible for assisting with general inquiry phone calls and client services as needed.

  • Responsible for maintaining a current mailing list of Hockey PEI membership.

  • Responsible for maintaining and monitoring Hockey PEI's Internal Network.

  • Responsible for the distribution and updating of all Hockey PEI directories.

  • Responsbile for the monitoring of the general inquires Info email account as required.

  • Responsible for Co-ordinating Hockey Canada’s MarCom initiatives to the Nation Standard.

  • Assist the Coordinator, Membership services in answering all general inquiries.

Administration -

  • Take and file Minutes from various Council meetings

  • Coordinate Conference Calls when required.

  • Assist the Technical Director with all Administration duties for the High-Performance Program.

  • Answer and route correspondence to appropriate Board and/or Council member(s).

  • Assist the Executive Director with administrative details, some of confidential nature.

  • Screen telephone calls, letters, and/or visitors; answer questions on certain Association matters and provide or distribute information; open and distribute mail

Member Services -

  • Hockey PEI’s Staff lead resource for Game Sheet Inc.

  • Hockey PEI’s support resource for HCR 3.0.

  • Coordinate and distribute all Hockey Canada Member engagement Projects.

  • Maintain all Hockey PEI internal digital platforms and programs.

  • Responsible for all graphic designs used by Hockey PEI.

  • Responsible for content production and redistribution on social media and website.

Events -

  • Hockey PEI’s Staff resource for logistics of Provincial Championships

  • Assist with the administration of Atlantic Championships as directed by Executive Director

  • Attend and assist with logistics of Hockey PEI Annual General Meeting and the Annual Fall Presidents Workshop.

  • Hockey PEI’s staff resource for recruitment projects.

Other -

  • Other Duties as assigned by Executive Director
