Doiron, Robinson earn respective Summer International Competition Invites

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE - Hockey PEI is proud to congratulate Tanner Doiron (Summerside, PE) and Jack Robinson (Cornwall, PE) on being selected by Hockey Canada to officiate two of the country’s premier summer hockey events.
Doiron has been selected as a referee for the 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase, taking place July 26–August 1 in Windsor, Ontario. The showcase features Canada’s National Junior Team hopefuls alongside Finland, Sweden and the United States as they prepare for the 2027 IIHF World Junior Championship.
Robinson has been selected as a referee for the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, which will be held in Edmonton, Alberta. The prestigious international tournament annually features many of the world’s top under-18 players and serves as one of the premier showcases for future NHL stars.
Both appointments come through Hockey Canada’s Officiating Program of Excellence, which provides a pathway for officials to earn opportunities at the highest levels of national and international competition. Officials are identified through their provincial branches, attend development camps and receive ongoing evaluation and mentorship before being selected for elite assignments.
“These selections are a tremendous accomplishment for Tanner and Jack and are a reflection of the dedication, professionalism and commitment they have shown throughout their officiating careers,” said Steven Green, Manager of Officiating for Hockey PEI. “To have two Hockey PEI officials selected for Hockey Canada’s premier summer events is something our entire hockey community can be proud of. They continue to set an outstanding example for officials across Prince Edward Island, and we know they will represent Hockey PEI with pride on the national stage.”
