HOCKEY PEI 50th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING CONCLUDES

CHARLOTTETOWN – Members joined together at the 50th Annual General Meeting of Hockey PEI which took place on June 26th at the Rodd Royalty Inn in Charlottetown.  The annual meeting included council and committee reports, award presentations and elections to the board of directors.

 

Several reports were presented including updates on new directives for the future including an update on the U9 Half-Ice program for next season, category changes to the U18 minor level programming, introducing the green arm band program for officials and a continued focus on sport safety and hockey culture with Hockey Canada’s new Shift Forward program.

 

Hockey PEI also confirmed that the branch will be hosting the 2026 Atlantic Major U18 Female and the 2026 Maritime Junior C Championships in April next year.  Selected host sites will be confirmed and more information made available in the coming months.

 

Elected to represent the board of directors for the 2025-2026 season included:

  • President – Robert MacMillan

  • Executive Vice President – Tanner Doiron

  • Vice President Finance – Tyson Bradley

  • Chair Minor Hockey Council – Paul Matte

  • Chair Female Hockey – Vacant

  • Chair Junior/Senior Hockey Council – Robert Maddix

  • Chair Hockey Development Council – Morgan Rice

  • Manager, Officiating – Steven Green

  • Past President – Al MacIsaac

 

In conjunction with the Annual General Meeting, several awards were presented at the annual awards ceremony.  Hockey PEI honored participants and volunteers who have devoted themselves to the betterment of the game. 

 

“It is important each year that we recognize and honor our members in their pursuit of excellence and volunteerism.  The commitment and efforts displayed by our players and volunteers are what make this game a joy to be involved in”, stated Hockey PEI President Robert MacMillan.  

 

Hockey PEI was honored to present awards in the following categories.

  • Life Member – Susan Dalziel

  • President’s Award – The late Philip Batt

  • Jim Stirling Scholarship - BF Canada – Brian Zhang

  • Hockey PEI Scholastic Award – Rhyan Burke

  • Gordie Whitlock Development Award  – Trevor Peters

  • Female Player of the Year – Kali MacDonald

  • Male Player of the Year – Austin Walker

  • Volunteer of the Year – Aaron Anderson

  • Administrator of the Year – Pam Martin

  • Coach of the Year – Ryan MacDonald

  • Aaron Coffin Official of the Year – Kalib Snow

  • Team of the Year – Eastern Stars Major U18 Female
