TRAVIS MCISAAC APPOINTED AS HOCKEY PEI'S NEW TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE - Hockey PEI is pleased to announce the appointment of Travis McIsaac as its new Technical Director. In this pivotal role, McIsaac will spearhead Hockey PEI's High Performance Program, oversee Hockey Development on Prince Edward Island, coordinate Coaching and Specialty Clinics, and undertake various other responsibilities aimed at advancing the sport of hockey across the province.


McIsaac steps into this role with a wealth of experience and expertise. Previously, he served as the Academy & Camp Coordinator for Holland College, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and organizational skills. His role as Sport & Venue Coordinator for the 2023 Canada Winter Games further honed his ability to manage large-scale sporting events and initiatives.


Moreover, McIsaac brings a strong academic background to his new position. As a Sessional Instructor of Sport & Exercise Psychology at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), he has shared his knowledge and insights with the next generation of sports professionals. His experience as a Research Coordinator and Graduate Researcher underscores his commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning. 


McIsaac's impressive resume also includes roles such as Strength & Conditioning Coach at Synergy Fitness and Director of Mental Performance at the Mount Academy. He has previously contributed to the development of athletes at Sport PEI and Andrews Hockey Academy, showcasing his dedication to fostering excellence in sports performance.


McIsaac holds a Master of Science in Human Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Prince Edward Island, credentials that underscore his multidisciplinary approach to sports development. In welcoming Travis McIsaac to the organization, Executive Director Tami Lewis remarked, "Travis brings a wealth of experience and a passion for hockey development that will greatly benefit our organization and the hockey community on Prince Edward Island. We are thrilled to have him join our team and look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly make." Hockey PEI extends its heartfelt appreciation to outgoing Technical Director Kris MacPhee for his dedication and contributions to hockey development over the past three years.


The organization wishes Kris all the best in his new professional endeavours. MacPhee and McIsaac will be working together until the end of the week as part of a transitional phase. Please join us in thanking Kris and welcoming Travis as our new Technical Director!
